Company background

History

Kid Film is European, independent company with shareholders from Poland and Germany. It was created after the success of picture “Crows” (Wrony).

The movie was directed by Dorota Kędzierzawska and for photography was responsible Arthur Reinhart.

The main goal of the creators was to establish the platform for independent productions, which will be fully controlled by authors.

Kid Film Limited Company was registered in the end of 1995 in Warsaw.

The company has already produced four movies all produced by Arthur Reinhart.

“Nothing” (Nic) the project was financed by Polish National Television (TVP SA), Kid Film and Committee of Cinematography,

“I am” (Jestem) financed by Polish National Television (TVP SA) , Kid Film, Orka Film, Panavision Polska and co-financed by Polish Film Agency,

"Time to die" (Pora umierac) financed by Polish National Television (TVP SA) , Kid Film, Tandem-Taren-To and co-financed by Polish Film Agency and

"Tommorow will be beter" (Jutro bedzie lepiej) financed by Kid Film, Niwa Films and co-financed by Polish Film Agency

 Objectives

The main aim of Kid Film was production of truly ambitious pictures addressing sensitive and “seeking” spectators.

We assume that it is time to talk with youth and youngsters, who need other world than proposed by TV soap operas .

We would like to provoke dialogue and intellectual discussion, but we do not want to give easy answers. We want rather to ask and raise the problems.

The other important issue is visual approach, which interferes the story and vice versa. We would like to take the spectator to aesthetic trip to spheres a little bit higher than everyday life.

Cinema is the part of art, which enables to feel inexpressible. Going to real cinema should be a fest. No matter if this will be moments of happiness and joy or sadness and pain.
